No Pumpkin Pie this Fall

Not pumpkin pie and apple cider, but hazelnut shading and creamy Tissavel fur.
I spend hours in my studio this week, sewing and trying out  ideas for my new Etsy store. The dust bunnies in the corners were just ignored and my family survived on left overs.  The only ones that were fed, were the dogs and the kitty-cats.   Fortunately my dearest husband and son do not mind and love all the creations that come from my time spend in the studio.

Chelby is the latest little kitten from my studio.  She is now available for adoption.  More photos of Chelby can be found here.

For the Love of Cats

I love cats.  We have five of them. Two fat big black ones, two handsome striped ones and a petite grey female. As strays, each came with his or her own sad history.

This little one on the other hand has had only sweet experiences.  She has been sharing my studio space for a while now, I wasn't quite sure whether I would like to let her go or maybe just keep her all to myself.

She is now available for adoption

Better Time Management = More Fuzzy Critters

Some weeks are just better than others and I manage to get so much more done.   This week I have finished two little bears.

The first one is Timo.

He is a soft, cuddly baby bear, who is now available for adoption
There are many more photos here.

A Little bit Chic and Shabby

Turquoise and pink are not exactly Fall colors, but a little bit of candy floss every now and again, can't hurt.
Dixi is now available for adoption.

An AutumnWood Bear ready for Fall

Winters can be dreadfully cold here in Canada, but fortunately there is always Fall to look forward to before winters’ snowy clouds descend upon us.
It is not hard to understand why Fall is many people's favorite time of the year when you wander through the country side with its magnificent colors.
We live a small village in Southwestern Ontario.  It is beautiful all year long, but it becomes spectacular during the Fall season.

This little bear is totally in love with this beautiful season.  Her name is Shay.  She is currently available for adoption.

An Unproductive Summer and Soft Cuddly Bears

When you come for a visit to my studio, you might wonder why there are teddy bear limbs pinned to my pin board.
Something I discovered this summer is that I do not like to work on more than one bear at a time.
My sweet, well-meaning dh thought it would be a great idea to streamline my ‘production’ and cut out a few bears at a time. Then, ever so leisurely, finish all the arms, then all the legs, then the ears…  you get the picture.
I tried, but it was killing my artistic soul. Tedious with no inspiration!   Now I have more than half a dozen unfinished bears in small plastic bags, pinned to my pin board and I just know I will never finish any of them.

This week I have created this little girl.  She is a faux fur bear of approximately 5 inches from her head to her toes.  I love her chocolaty color, and her soft cuddly fur.

Kari is currently available for adoption.

A New Bear on the Blog

Her name is Zia and she almost didn't make it to the blog.  Taking photos of her was nearly impossible, there was always  a hair (fur) out of place.

Rusty Brown Teddy Bears

I love working with mohair.  It is so easy to hand sew and you are not all covered in little fur pieces at the end of the day.

This is Brinley.  She is sewn from a beautiful warm rusty brown mohair.  Her face and body are a creamy pink long pile medium density mohair.  She is about 5 inches standing, which she can do all by herself.

Brinley is currently available for adoption.  For more photos of  Brinley, visit the Available Bears page.

Finally, a little Boy Bear

Somehow I always manage to make girly bears, but this one is a real little boy.

Tulley is a 5", faux fur bear and is currently available for adoption.

Two tiny friends.

Chubby Baby Bear

Good thing you're not here in my studio when I photograph my little bears.   I have conversations with them, and I am sure this little bear kept asking me today 'what are you doing?' every time I pointed the camera at her.

Sounds weird, I know, but if you're a teddy bear lover, you'll understand.

Her name is Dani, she is 5in tall and is now available for adoption.

Summer Babes

Two new little ones from the studio...

Georgie is approximatley 4 inches standing and made from a cream, sparse mohair.

Kelsy is a bit taller at 4.5 inches, created from  a white and soft grey faux fur.

Both Georgie and Kelsy are currently available for adoption.

Georgie has found a new home, thank you.

The Last of the Peonies

I couldn't bear to cut the last of the peonies from my garden. We have had so much rain this season, they didn't last more than a few days and were starting to turn brown.

I wish I had a huge flower garden so that I could pick baskets full of flowers everyday.  Wouldn't that be wonderful?

Benno loves Peonies as well....

New Cuties on Facebook

If you were wearing flip-flops and a t-shirt and were in Southwestern Ontario today, you would definitely have noticed it was a mistake!  We are back in the single digits, almost down to zero degrees.  Even the dogs do not want to poke their noses outside today.

I thought I would give you a sneak peak of a cutie that will hopefully be finished by this weekend.  He still needs some shading, and of course arms and legs. And ears.

If you would like to be first to know about new born AutumnWood Bears, visit  our Facebook page.  Here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/AutumnWoodBears   I always post new little ones there first.
