An AutumnWood Bear ready for Fall

Winters can be dreadfully cold here in Canada, but fortunately there is always Fall to look forward to before winters’ snowy clouds descend upon us.
It is not hard to understand why Fall is many people's favorite time of the year when you wander through the country side with its magnificent colors.
We live a small village in Southwestern Ontario.  It is beautiful all year long, but it becomes spectacular during the Fall season.

This little bear is totally in love with this beautiful season.  Her name is Shay.  She is currently available for adoption.

An Unproductive Summer and Soft Cuddly Bears

When you come for a visit to my studio, you might wonder why there are teddy bear limbs pinned to my pin board.
Something I discovered this summer is that I do not like to work on more than one bear at a time.
My sweet, well-meaning dh thought it would be a great idea to streamline my ‘production’ and cut out a few bears at a time. Then, ever so leisurely, finish all the arms, then all the legs, then the ears…  you get the picture.
I tried, but it was killing my artistic soul. Tedious with no inspiration!   Now I have more than half a dozen unfinished bears in small plastic bags, pinned to my pin board and I just know I will never finish any of them.

This week I have created this little girl.  She is a faux fur bear of approximately 5 inches from her head to her toes.  I love her chocolaty color, and her soft cuddly fur.

Kari is currently available for adoption.

A New Bear on the Blog

Her name is Zia and she almost didn't make it to the blog.  Taking photos of her was nearly impossible, there was always  a hair (fur) out of place.

Rusty Brown Teddy Bears

I love working with mohair.  It is so easy to hand sew and you are not all covered in little fur pieces at the end of the day.

This is Brinley.  She is sewn from a beautiful warm rusty brown mohair.  Her face and body are a creamy pink long pile medium density mohair.  She is about 5 inches standing, which she can do all by herself.

Brinley is currently available for adoption.  For more photos of  Brinley, visit the Available Bears page.

Finally, a little Boy Bear

Somehow I always manage to make girly bears, but this one is a real little boy.

Tulley is a 5", faux fur bear and is currently available for adoption.

Two tiny friends.

Chubby Baby Bear

Good thing you're not here in my studio when I photograph my little bears.   I have conversations with them, and I am sure this little bear kept asking me today 'what are you doing?' every time I pointed the camera at her.

Sounds weird, I know, but if you're a teddy bear lover, you'll understand.

Her name is Dani, she is 5in tall and is now available for adoption.

Summer Babes

Two new little ones from the studio...

Georgie is approximatley 4 inches standing and made from a cream, sparse mohair.

Kelsy is a bit taller at 4.5 inches, created from  a white and soft grey faux fur.

Both Georgie and Kelsy are currently available for adoption.

Georgie has found a new home, thank you.
